Trust & Privacy

This page is maintained by Downsizing Insights to answer common questions about how the Downsizing Planner handles your account, plan data, and payments. It is editable project content, not an independent certification or third-party audit.

Accounts & authentication

Sign-in is handled by our hosting platform's managed authentication service. You can sign in with email magic link, with a password after setting one on your Account page, or with Google when enabled.

Sessions are scoped to your browser. You can sign out at any time from the Account page.

Your plan data

Plans you create are stored in our managed cloud database and are only readable by you and people you explicitly invite to share a plan. Database access rules enforce this at the row level — no other signed-in user can read your plan.

When you share a plan, only the people whose email addresses you invite gain access, and you can change or revoke their role from the share dialog.

Payments

Subscription checkout and billing are handled by Stripe. Card details are entered directly into Stripe and are never sent to or stored by Downsizing Insights. We receive only the subscription status needed to unlock your plan.

Email

We send transactional email related to your account (sign-in links, share invitations, and billing receipts). We don't sell your email address.

Cookies & analytics

We use first-party cookies and local storage required to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. Any product analytics we add is used to improve the planner and is not sold to third parties.

Data retention & deletion

You can delete plans from inside the app. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us using the address below and we'll process the request.

Shared responsibility

Downsizing Insights is responsible for the application code, access rules, and how features behave. Our hosting platform is responsible for the underlying infrastructure (servers, managed database, authentication service, and TLS). You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe and for who you invite to a shared plan.

Reporting a security issue

If you believe you've found a security issue, please email us so we can investigate. Include steps to reproduce and any relevant details; please don't publicly disclose the issue until we've had a chance to respond.
